About:
The VMWJ / Association of Medical & Science Journalists was founded in 2012, as a merger of the 3 journalist associations „Vereinigung der Deutschen Medizinischen Fach- und Standespresse e. V.“, „Arbeitskreis Medizinpublizisten/Klub der Wissenschaftsjournalisten e. V.“ und „Kollegium der Medizinjournalisten“.

VMWJ’s main objectives are to promote unrestricted, independent and high-quality medical and science journalism and to foster encounters, understanding and exchange of information between medicine, science, politics and the public. 

Key activities of the association include panel discussions, press and other conferences, advanced training courses, members’ meetings and publications.

Governance:
The leading officers are elected by the General Assembly which is held annually. The last Board Election took place in April 2015. The Executive Office meets 2 to 4 times per year.
