About:
SISJ is an independent, not-for-profit, non-partisant, non-governmental organization
SISJ objectives are:
1. To build a strong and more closely connected network of science reporters and editors
2. To stimulate more and better coverage of a range of important science issue
3. To encourage addition or expansion of science reporting positions within broadcast, print,
and Internet news organizations
4. To increase use of information resources, training, and educational events that are already
available to reporters and editors who will cover science
5. To foster the creation of important new information resources and training opportunities
SISJ is not a public relations or an advocacy organization
 
Membership:
SISJ has two kind of members: 1) Active members and 2) Academic members.
Only Active Members have votes. 
Total Active Members now are 12 journalists, including 3 freelance journalists.

Governance:
Active members (who are science journalists) will vote for the Board of Directors and the Oversight Board
