Theme: Talking the Science We All Live
The Uganda Science Journalists Association (USJA) in collaboration with the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) is organizing “the Uganda Conference for Science Communication 2008” to be held at Imperial Royale Hotel – Kampala from November 23rd to 26th, 2008.
The conference will bring together over 500 journalists, scientists, researchers, science communicators and other stakeholders from Africa and other parts of the world. The concept note is here downloadable

Conference application forms

scienceu@scienceuganda.org. You can also quickly apply online by filling in the application form provided on the website and clicking “SUBMIT”. Deadline for registration of international delegates has bee extended to October 31, 2008 and payment modalities are detailed on the registration form. Please note that the conference fee entitles you to conference attendance, conference kit, lunch, tea and other refreshments during the sessions.

Sponsor a journalist
You can support a journalist who has potential in covering your area of research or science. You can do this through the USJA, or by nominating and pledging to cover the participation costs of a journalist known to you. Field Excursions
There will be field excursions on the last day of the conference. Participants will have an opportunity to visit some research centres in Uganda as well as tourism sites that are within a radius of 80 kilometers from Kampala. Capacity to manage large groups is limited and therefore participation in field excursions will be allocated on a “first come first serve basis”.
