4th World Conference of Science Journalists




From Monday October 4th to Friday October 8th, 2004, in Montréal (Québec) Canada, the Canadian Science Writers Association (CSWA) and the Association des communicateurs scientifiques du Québec (ACS; Science Writers Association of Québec) hosted their colleagues from around the world at the 4th World Conference of Science Journalists.

Some 620 persons, nearly half of whom were science journalists from 58 countries, attended the WCSJ2004. Some thirty associations of science journalists were represented; they voted for the first elected board of the World Federation of Science Journalists.

Total revenues for WCSJ2004 were $785,000 CAD and total expenses $650,000 CAD. The breakdown regarding funding sources was the following:
