The USA To Host The 2017 World Conference Of Science Journalists in San Francisco!
Congrats to the National Association of Science Writers (NASW) and the Council for the Advancement of Science Writing (CASW)
Yesterday, at the 9th World Conference of Science Journalists in Seoul, the USA has won the bidding process organized by the Executive Board of the WFSJ and will host the next 10th World Conference of Science Journalists (WFSJ2017) in San Francisco.
Indeed, 2 candidates were taking this challenge :
- Candidate 1 - Copenhagen: The Danish Science Journalists' Association (DV)
- Candidate 2- San Francisco: The National Association of Science Writers (NASW) and the Council for the Advancement of Science Writing (CASW)
Both associations presented their bids at the Seoul World Conference of Science Journalists on Monday, June 8th from 1:30pm – 2:30pm in room 101 & 102 of the Grand Ballroom.
The World Conference of Science Journalists happens every two years, and this year's event was held in Seoul, Korea.It was the nineth conference of its kind and it is a unique event where more than 900 science journalists from more than 44 nations gather to exchange views and discuss the challenges they face in the field of science journalism. The conference is organized by the World Federation of Science Journalists, in partnership with the local science journalist association.
